You’re Invited: A Lenten Study – “My Body Is Not a Prayer Request”

As we journey through the season of Lent, a time for reflection, renewal, and preparation, we invite you to join us for a transformative study based on Amy Kenny’s powerful book, My Body Is Not a Prayer Request.
This book challenges us to rethink how we perceive disability, healing, and belonging within our faith communities. With courage and grace, Kenny invites us to embrace the full humanity of every person, recognizing the divine image in all.
This study will begin the week of March 9th. There is a survey in the foyer of the church to help us determine the time. Please help us by signing up and filling out the survey so that we may schedule this at a time most convenient for participants.
Through guided discussion, prayer, and reflection, we’ll explore themes of inclusion, dignity, and justice as part of our spiritual practice this Lent. Together, we’ll ask how we can better embody Christ’s love by fostering communities that honor and celebrate every body.
Whether you’re new to the conversation or have long advocated for disability justice, this study offers a safe space to grow in understanding and faith.
